Mystery Tours
05/16/10

Mystery Tours began in 1964 by the Allegheny Mountains Convention & Visitors Bureau to share with Blair County residents the many treasures and fun things to do in their own backyard.  Tour partipants follow the driving instructions and wind their way through the hills and valleys of The Alleghenies.  The tour can be taken in thier own car with family & friends, and they travel at their own pace.  The true Mystery of the Mystery Tour is that participants never know exactly where they're headed or what they'll see and do.  They stop at different attractions, as well as shopping and dining venues, state parks or other locations that coordinate with tour themes.  While taking a tour, participants learn about the history of the area, including little-known facts about featured stops.  On average nearly 500 people take each tour.  A new Mystery Tour is produced by the Visitors Bureau five times a year (May, June, July, August and October).  Tour packets can be picked up at the Welcome Center inside the Blair County Convention Center 10am to 2pm on the tour dates.
