01/25/10

WISE Women of Blair County Tribute (the successor organization to YWCA of Altoona) recognizes and honors Blair County women who have demonstrated excellence and leadership in promoting the awareness of the significant role of women in the economic growth and quality of life in our community.

WISE Women of Blair County is dedicated to empowering women and eliminating racism through collaboration, service, and education.

This year is the eighteenth year in which a Tribute Dinner will be held to honor the women chosen for this award.  Honorees are selected using a variety of criteria and include the following categories: Arts and Letter, Business & Professional, Community Service Volunteer, Education, Non-Profit/Government, and Rising Star. In addition, a Lifetime Achievement Award is given to an individual chosen by the Board of Directors.

This dinner raises awareness of the significant role women play in encouraging economic growth and enhancing the quality of life in Blair County.  This year we will pay tribute to seven women who exemplify excellence and leadership in our community.

Deadline for nominations for the 2010 awards is February 1st. To download Tribute Nomination forms, click here.

The Tribute Awards Dinner will be held Tuesday, April 6 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at the Casino at Lakemont Park. Tickets may be purchased by calling WISE Women of Blair County at 695-6553.
