Held Annually May Through October The Mystery Tour program is among the oldest and most popular of all AMCVB offerings. For more than 35 years, these self-guided driving routes have been providing fun, educational activities for all ages. The “Original One Tank Trip,” Mystery Tours explore The Alleghenies Region from a perspective off the beaten path, providing extensive information about historical sites, local attractions, and area businesses and organizations along the way. The tours Highlight our Members with write-ups in the tour packets, as well as featured stops along the tour route, which may include answering questions as part of each tour’s prize drawing. The tours draw NEW potential customers to area businesses! The Mystery is exactly where the tour will take you. Tours begin at the Blair County Convention Center and always feature Altoona-area members, but may also wind through neighboring counties. Past trips have taken tourers to Bedford, Huntingdon, Cambria, Centre and Indiana Counties. Five new tours are produced each year. Old tours are catalogued and advertised as perfect country roads driving tours, so not only will you be highlighted for the weekend of your tour, but for years to come, as more and more visitors request our Mystery Tours.
